An Enlightened Architect
Richmond Middle School
Hanover, New Hampshire
Interior Sign Program
Project Description
The best architecture-specific sign programs result from embedding the wayfinding consultant with the architect’s team early in a project’s conceptual design process. Banwell Architects brought CGD on board at the earliest point– to assist in integrating the sign program into their design and construction budget for Hanover’s new Richmond Middle School.
Simple, geometric motifs, derived from the architect’s exterior cladding patterns, were developed to create vibrant, yet restrained, focal points for all interior ADA-compliant sign types. Colors assigned to the motifs strengthen the color coding of each floor’s finish palette.
