Identity / Banner Program for Retail Parking Area of Centerra Resource Park
As part of an integrated identity/banner program for installation on existing light posts in the retail parking area of Centerra Resource Park, Dartmouth Real Estate Office asked CGD to design a logo for Centerra Marketplace. The mark brings together two contrasting fonts in an active and layered composition appropriate to the energy of a market. While the “Stencil” font evokes the commonality of trade and shipping, the use of Banker’s Script for Centerra’s initial sends an important signal that reinforces the upscale, but restrained character of this retail center.
Once the typographic scheme was resolved, numerous color variations were explored to ensure that the concept would adapt successfully to a variety of contexts and applications. A palette of “traffic sign” yellow and white was chosen to maintain readability against the four background colors of the exterior banner program.
