​CGD’s concept for this commemorative poster called for a photographic celebration of DHMC’s signature public space, the multi-story skylit lobby atrium designed by Shepley Bulfinch Richardson Abbott Architects. To capture an unimpeded perpendicular view, the designer scheduled the photoshoot before the information desk was constructed immediately below on the ground level. This allowed the photographer, Stuart Bratesman, to align his 8 x 10 view camera with the axis of the skylight’s epicenter. The resulting symmetry creates an engaging oscillation between the dimensional reality of the atrium and the poster’s flat surface.
